Award Ceremony for Graduates of Student Project “School of Political Education”

 

Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University (TSU) held an award ceremony for the graduates of the student project “School of Political Education.” The Rector of Tbilisi State University, Academician Jaba Samushia participated in the event.

The School of Political Education is the winner of the student project competition and is funded by the university. Within the framework of the project, more than 120 participants have successfully completed their studies. This year, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students from public and private schools participated in the project. Students and professors of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of TSU shared their knowledge and experience with them.

Rector Jaba Samushia addressed the participants of the project and wished them success in their future activities: “You already have the political culture that a young politician needs. Such initiatives are a very good way for young people like you to get involved in important processes for the country and we give you our full support in this and other similar activities.”

During the award ceremony, the participants briefly summarized the results of the project and awarded symbolic gifts and certificates to the three most active participants - Mariam Sokhadze, Lilu Chkhartishvili and Mariam Komakhidze. TSU Professor Malkhaz Matsaberidze addressed the participants of the project: “Education received at Tbilisi State University has always been a guarantee of the country’s progress. I hope that you will be even better than the previous generation and that you will follow the right path.”

Within the framework of the project, the participants familiarized themselves with such topics as political ideologies, the origin and needs of the state, characteristics of civil society, disinformation policy, etc. The project was supported by TSU Junior.

Educational, sports and cultural student projects are financed from the TSU budget. This year, GEL 850 thousand was allocated from the budget for these projects. The competition is held three times a year. In 2023, the university has already financed about 200 student projects.
